Community Unlimited is a small non-profit whose mission is: To build a community of character for all generations to interact and grow as we live, work and play-a healthy community for all.  We currently offer after school and summer programs for the Union City School District, which includes Burlington, Union City and Sherwood families. Last year, we completed the first year of our five year 21^st Century Community Learning Center state grant.  This grant enabled us to provide programs to over 500 students that included homework and tutoring help, enrichment and recreational activities and many hands-on field trip experiences.  It is our hope that students attending our programs will achieve academic success and experience individual achievements helping them become healthy individuals. 

Community Unlimited is writing to inform you that it is beginning a new endeavor.  We have partnered with the Food Bank of South Central Michigan to bring the After School Pack Program to our community.  The After School Pack Program helps to replace meals children miss over the weekend when not at school and may provide important food assistance to households struggling to make ends meet.  The packs are designed so children can “help themselves”.  The packs are filled with nutritional, easy-to-use food items such as peanut butter, granola bars, canned pasta meals, fruits and vegetables and juice.  

We are looking for your support to help feed children in our community who are at risk of going hungry.  We are asking businesses, organizations and individuals to sponsor a student for this new program.  Here is what your sponsorship provides:

$14.00 provides one child an after school pack every week for one month

$42.00 provides one child an after school pack every week for three months.

$133.00 provides one child an after school pack every week for the entire school year
