Free Tax Preparation & e-Filing in Union City/Athens
CALL 517-741-3632 for an appointment

Community Unlimited & Athens Community Foundation are providing free federal and MI tax preparation for families whose 2009 household income is less than $49,000.

The Earned Income Tax Credit for a family could be up to $5600. The amount of tax credits and refunds is determined by your income, whether you are single or married,
and the number of children you have.

Community Unlimited is a partner of the Calhoun County Tax Coalition whose goal is to increase the amount of EITC claimed in our area. In 1975 Congress approved the tax credit legislation to offset the burden of social security taxes and to provide an incentive to work. The EITC has no effect on certain welfare benefits, andin most cases, will not be used to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), food stamps, low-income housing or most TANF payments.
